The venture arm has facilitated the deployment of startup-driven solutions across more than 250 Wipro customers worldwide.
Wipro Limited has committed $200 million to its venture arm, Wipro Ventures, to accelerate investments in early to mid-stage startups. This is the fourth round of funding since Wipro Ventures’ launch in 2015, highlighting the company’s decade-long focus on supporting emerging technologies.
The latest investment is expected to strengthen Wipro Ventures’ role in fostering innovation across global startup hubs.
“Wipro Ventures is strategically positioned to participate in and contribute to technological innovation across startup hubs globally,” said Srini Pallia, CEO & managing director of Wipro Limited.
A Decade of Strategic Investments
Wipro Ventures was established to identify and invest in startups developing disruptive technologies that align with Wipro’s business and client needs. Over the past ten years, it has backed 37 startups in fields such as AI, data analytics, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure. The venture arm has also facilitated the deployment of startup-driven solutions across more than 250 Wipro customers worldwide and has seen 12 successful exits.
In addition to direct investments, it has allocated funds to several early-stage, enterprise-focused, and cybersecurity-themed venture funds in India, the U.S., and Israel.
The venture arm connects startups with Wipro’s enterprise clients, providing them with access to a global customer base and enabling clients to leverage cutting-edge technologies.
With the new funding, Wipro Ventures aims to further its efforts in identifying high-potential startups and integrating their solutions into enterprise environments.
The investment aligns with Wipro’s broader strategy of leveraging external innovation to enhance its technology offerings and maintain a competitive edge in the IT services sector.
Wipro has been making big investments in the AI sector, with agentic AI as its focus. During the Q3 FY25 earnings call last month, Wipro chief Pallia stated that the company plans to actively explore agentic AI in various sectors, such as customer service and supply chain management, in the upcoming quarters.
