HCLTech has been operating in Hyderabad since 2007.
Technology giant HCLTech is set to expand its global delivery operations in Hyderabad with the launch of a new technology centre, expected to generate 5,000 additional jobs.
The announcement was made following a meeting between Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, IT Minister D Sridhar Babu, and HCLTech’s Global CEO and Managing Director C Vijayakumar at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos.
According to an official press release, the new centre, spanning 3,20,000 sqft, will focus on delivering advanced cloud, AI, and digital transformation solutions to global clients across industries such as hi-tech, life sciences, and financial services.
“Hyderabad, with its world-class infrastructure and high-quality talent pool, has been a key location on HCLTech’s global network. The new centre will bring cutting-edge capabilities to our global client base and contribute to the local technology ecosystem,” said Vijayakumar. He also invited the Chief Minister and IT Minister to formally inaugurate the facility next month.
Welcoming HCLTech’s expansion, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated, “The new tech centre reaffirms Hyderabad’s continued attraction for global IT companies and further consolidates its position as a leading IT hub in the world.”
IT Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted the state government’s commitment to enhancing the technology and innovation ecosystem, with a special focus on expanding opportunities to tier 2 and tier 3 cities to create job opportunities for local youth. He assured full government support to facilitate HCLTech’s continued growth in the state.
HCLTech has been operating in Hyderabad since 2007. With the addition of this new centre, the company’s footprint in the city will expand to five centres, accommodating a total capacity of 8,500 seats.
