Expertia AI Secures ₹20 crore in Funding to Expand AI-Driven Recruitment Platform

Expertia AI, an AI-powered recruitment platform, has raised ₹20 crore in pre-series A funding to accelerate its growth and expand globally. The round saw participation from Chiratae Ventures, Endiya Partners, Rockstud Capital, and Flipkart.

The funding will be used to hire AI researchers, software engineers and growth hackers to strengthen the brand and product in India and expand operations into the US market.

Founded in 2021 by Akshay Gugnani, a researcher from IBM and MIT, and entrepreneur Kanishk Shukla, the company has grown rapidly in the HR-tech space. The company’s platform uses AI to automate the hiring process, from sourcing and screening candidates to conducting interviews.

“At Expertia, we’re building an agentic AI Recruiter to eliminate time, cost, and bias in enterprise hiring—making recruitment real-time, fair, and opportunity-rich for professionals worldwide. Our mission is to revolutionise the next decade of hiring by leveraging cutting-edge AI and becoming the global destination for talent and recruitment,” Gugnani said.

“We are thrilled to welcome our new investor and appreciate the continued support of Chiratae Ventures and Endiya Partners,” he added.

The company had raised ₹9 crore in a previous round in 2021 and achieved 3x revenue growth in FY25 compared to FY24. It has screened over 25 million professionals and filled over 2,00,000 job roles. Expertia now serves over 18,000 companies, including major enterprises like Reliance Retail and Jio.Meanwhile, Shukla mentioned, “Our platform enables recruiters to close vacancies 80% faster, positioning Expertia as the go-to solution for HR leaders looking to optimise their hiring process.”
