DeepLearning.AI, the online platform for computer science education, has announced a new Data Analytics Professional Certificate on Coursera. The program is taught by Sean Barnes, a leader in data science and engineering at Netflix.

The program comprises five courses, including foundational concepts, applied statistics, Python, SQL, and data storytelling.

Users can enroll for the professional certification for a fee on Coursera. However, individual courses can be accessed for free by selecting the ‘audit this course’ option on the platform.

Andrew Ng, co-founder of DeepLearning.AI and Coursera, took to X to announce the course. “Each course comes with practical projects demonstrated in real-world contexts, such as analysing sales data for a Korean bakery, video game sales trends across different regions, or identifying factors impacting customer retention for a communications company,” he said.

Furthermore, the course teaches how to utilise large language models (LLMs) for stakeholder analysis, data exploration, and data visualisation. It also covers best practices for using LLMs as a ‘thought partner’ in data analysis work.

DeepLearning.AI offers a variety of professional certifications in machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence. Moreover, the platform provides over 50 short courses to help learners quickly grasp the latest techniques in generative AI.

Recently, the platform announced a new free short course titled Getting Structured LLM Output in collaboration with DotTxt. The course focuses on teaching how to generate structured outputs, such as JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), from LLMs.

A few days ago, DeepLearning.AI announced a free short course titled Vibe Coding 101 with Replit. The course will teach learners how to build and deploy two applications using Replit’s agentic AI coding tools.

Over the years, Andrew has been a strong advocate for the democratisation of AI education, with over seven million students using the platform to enhance their skills for the future. Last year,  he was appointed to Amazon’s board of directors
