Zerodha’s Rainmatter, IISc Launch Entrepreneur Program for Deep Tech In Healthcare

Rainmatter, an investment initiative and NGO founded by Zerodha, collaborates with Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Longevity India to launch an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EiR) program focused on healthcare for India. 

This initiative marks Rainmatter’s first health-centric program, aimed at combining science and technology to address the challenges of longevity and ageing.

The Longevity India EiR Program seeks to support aspiring entrepreneurs working in deep tech and deep science. Participants will be selected through the Longevity Ideathon, a competitive event during the RISE 2025 conference in Bengaluru.

The program focuses on four initiatives, including therapeutics and interventions, tech or device development, biomarkers and diagnostics, and computational biology and data science. 

AI-driven technologies and devices for elder care, advanced diagnostics and biomarkers for biological ageing, and data science-driven approaches to unravel ageing complexities through predictive analytics and biological modelling are the main focus. 

Tech for Good 

Rainmatter has been focusing on supporting startups and projects that address critical issues related to climate action, health, and sustainable development. It was founded by Nitin Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha. Kailash Nadh, the CTO of Zerodha is also a co-founder of Rainmatter. 

In 2024, Rainmatter invested ₹275 crore in 47 startups, and it plans to allocate an additional ₹1,000 crore in the coming years.
