Vivek Raghavan is the brain and soul behind Sarvam AI, often referred to as the OpenAI of India. With a lean team of young engineers, Raghavan is building the open-source ecosystem for Indian AI developers which started with OpenHathi LLM, and now boasts one of India’s first foundational models, Sarvam 2B.
Raghavan is also the chief AI evangelist at the EkStep Foundation, where he advises Digital India Bhashini division and served as the chief mentor for Nilekani Centre at AI4Bharat. Besides, Raghavan has served as the chief product officer and biometric architect at UIDAI and was a core member of the Aadhaar Project.
His dedication to making AI work for India is evident as he believes that generative AI has the potential to impact all lives.
