Infosys Partners with RheinEnergie to Advance Energy Transition for Enterprises  

Infosys has announced a collaboration with RheinEnergie, a German energy service provider, to aid enterprises in advancing their energy transition and sustainability goals, as announced by the company on Thursday. 

The initiative leverages Infosys Cobalt and Topaz to help organisations improve energy efficiency by 30–40% while meeting decarbonisation targets.  

The partnership will provide enterprises with solutions in cloud technology, AI, and Industry 4.0. The focus is on decentralising the energy transition by connecting renewable generation, storage, energy markets, grids, and energy-consuming assets. 

These tools will allow enterprises to select low-carbon energy sources, optimise investments, and profit from renewable energy systems.  

Stephan Segbers, chief sales officer and board member at RheinEnergie said, “Innovative technological and digital solutions are essential for achieving Germany’s planned transition to a low-carbon economy.”  

The collaboration targets sectors such as travel, transportation, commercial real estate, and manufacturing. It will also provide actionable insights to enhance energy efficiency and support organisations in navigating the evolving energy market.  

Ashiss Kumar Dash, executive VP at Infosys, stated, “Accelerating decarbonisation at scale is an obligation for businesses. This partnership enables organisations to make data-driven decisions for a cleaner energy future.”  

The initiative aligns with Germany’s long-term energy strategy, which prioritises a shift to low-carbon and nuclear-free energy systems.

This year, Infosys had also partnered with ServiceNow to transform customer experiences with generative AI‑powered industry solutions, at ServiceNow’s annual customer and partner event Knowledge 2024.

The collaboration had aimed at increasing productivity, efficiency, and improving user experience for organisations by combining ServiceNow’s Now Assist gen AI capabilities and Infosys Cobalt.

In telecommunications, Infosys announced the expansion of its partnership with NVIDIA to bring AI-driven, customer-centric solutions by integrating Topaz with NVIDIA’s advanced AI tech to deliver innovative solutions.

Not just this, Infosys also delved into building small language models for banking and IT operations through its partnership with Sarvam AI. 

Recently it was also reported by AIM that around 18,000 developers at Infosys have written 7 million lines of code using GitHub Copilot. This significantly highlighted the company’s shift into an AI-first company with Microsoft’s Copilot and Meta’s Llama.
