Developed in collaboration with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), the centre features robust infrastructure and IT support from BEL, while Indian Army personnel will oversee its operations. The project aligns with India’s vision of ‘Aatmanirbharta’ (self-reliance) in defence, focusing on cultivating indigenous talent and reducing reliance on foreign technology.
The centre will serve as an AI innovation hub, collaborating with academia, startups, industry leaders, and experts to address the Army’s unique technological needs. Research efforts will target critical areas such as predictive maintenance, advanced surveillance, decision support systems, and autonomous platforms.
The Indian Army has been increasingly investing in emerging technologies, recognising their transformative impact on modern warfare. With its focus on building a skilled workforce and driving technological evolution, the IAAIIC marks a pivotal moment in the Indian Army’s journey towards embracing AI as a cornerstone of its strategic capabilities.
