Users will now be able to customise their games as they play.

Electronic Arts (EA) is taking the gaming and AI scene seriously. Recently, Mihir Vaidya, chief strategy officer of EA, shared a glimpse into the future of gaming and user generated games (UGX), illustrating a pathway from ‘Imagination to Creation.’
The concept video showcased during the presentation demonstrated the company’s approach where players can seamlessly create expansive gaming worlds without any coding expertise, using only natural language. For example, they can create more characters, obstacles, level up or design their own weapon by simple natural language prompts.
In the demonstration video, two players were seen transforming simple cardboard boxes into complex, multi-level game worlds. It included characters, weapons and gameplay mechanics in real time. Fueled by EA’s proprietary datasets, which include hundreds of thousands of 3D assets, millions of lines of code and trillions of telemetry events. Such an enormous data pool allows EA to train advanced custom creation models, enabling users to build their game worlds in mere seconds.
EA’s leadership emphasised the transformative potential of these systems. The ability to remix foundational game elements in real-time, without technical barriers, opens the door for creators to develop unique experiences that go beyond traditional AAA titles. These creations, built upon EA’s existing intellectual property (IP), could evolve into chart-topping games themselves.
The new UGX vision also hints at a deepening collaboration between professional developers and the gaming community. As players create and iterate, EA sees the potential for new IPs to emerge from these creations, reinforcing a symbiotic relationship between creators and developers.
Similarly, text-to-video games are becoming a focus for several gaming and AI companies. For example, launched in February, Google’s Genie was able to create games with single prompts.
This all just proves Jensen Huang’s point that in the future everyone would be a gamer. Turns out that everyone would be able to create their own video games as well.
